Bowdoinham-Camilla P. Ashley, 79, of the Carding Machine Rd., passed on September 15, 2026 at the home of her loving son and daughter in-law.
Camilla was born in Portland on July 30, 1947 the daughter of Robert and Elinor (Salamone) Lawson.
Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends, being Team Mom to all her Kids sporting events! watching the Cincinnati or New England team sports and soccer matches. Camilla also loved playing bingo and sitting at her sister Marie's camp on Pettengil Pond. She particularly enjoyed helping anyone and everyone that needed it.
Camilla proudly served in the United States Navy from 1966-68 as a Yeoman. She would work a various careers throughout her life after her honorable discharge from the Navy.
Camilla was predeceased by her parents, brother George Lawson, spouse Gary W. Ashley, and best friend (sister) Peggy Johnson Peterson. she is survived by her siblings, Lillian Wakefield, Henry Lawson (Cheryl), Helen Lawson, Elinor Nelson, Robert Lawson, Paul Lawson, Elizabeth Coburn, Michael Lawson (Sue) and Marie and Joanne Lawson, daughters Lauri (Ashley) Robinson (Jerry) and Lani (Ashley) Steiner of Ohio' son Gary R Ashley (Lisa) Bowdoinham, grandchildren Cody McGuire, Kala McGuire, Mara Steiner and Haley Shannon of Ohio. Danielle (Ashley) Grogan (Robert) of Lisbon Falls and Kiersten (Ashley) Carlson (Jason) of Bowdoinham
great grandchildren Asher Carlson and Lailani McGuire, many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
A private celebration of life with military honors will take place on Sunday, October 4th, 2026 from 1300-1700 hrs., at the American Legion 79 Foreside Rd., Topsham.
