Norma T Goodwin, age 89, died peacefully April 27, 2026 in Augusta Maine. Norma was born in Haverhill Massachusetts to Helene and Joseph Taute.
Norma will be missed by multiple family members including her children and their spouses, Karen and Randy, Janet and Greg, Richard and Kim, Robert and Theresa, Mike and Anne and Judy (estranged children Joe and Linda) many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and siblings Diane and spouse Mark and Carol.
Norma will be in heaven with her previous spouses Ted Goodwin and Boyd Slowik, her parents Helene and Joseph Taute and her sister Pat.
Norma’s greatest joy was family gatherings. She loved the crazy chaos created by having multiple people around her. She also found joy in going out to eat, having a cocktail or two and lifelong enjoyment of things such as camping, shopping, painting, ceramics, macrame, stained glass, word search and puzzles. She loved being out in the sun on warm days, and thought those days were best when by the pool or ocean. During her life, she had her farm animals and gardens. She loved her dogs, cats, parrots, and most recently, her dog Buddy.
Norma’s work included being a bookkeeper, Avon Lady and was involved tending to foster children and later ran a group home for mentally and/or physically impaired children and adults.
In her retirement, she lived in West Gardiner, Maine to be closest to the family she loved most.
There will be a private graveside ceremony only for close and immediate family. A family gathering in the future will be planned. Dates to be determined.
