Matthew Ryan "Matty" Parks, 42, of Bowdoin, Maine, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep beside his wife. He was born July 6, 1983, to Thomas and Wendy Parks.
In high school, Matthew worked at Easy Rental in Lewiston. He later worked for General Concrete and most recently at Bath Iron Works (BIW) as a carpenter and deck lead — work he enjoyed doing especially the sea trials.
Matthew loved spending time with his family and had a deep passion for hunting — big and small wild game — and made sure the freezer was always full. His best times were spent rabbit hunting with Belle and Starr, deer hunting with Russ and Rich, and most recently sharing his love of hunting with his grandson Oliver. Oh, the stories to be told.
He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Wendy Parks; his brother, Forrest (Ann) Parks; his wife, Aimee; bonus children Kassandra and Patrick Creighton, and Abigail and Daniel Reynolds; grandchildren Oliver, Oakleigh, and Rosie; his in-laws Dan and Rose Dufour; sister-in-law Carrie Quagliaroli and family; aunts Faye and Crystal; and many cousins, extended family members, and lifelong friends.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Richard and Ann Parks; his aunt Barbara; his grandparents Russell and Edith McIver; and his uncles Claude and Bill.
A celebration of Matthew's life will be held at a later time.
