David Oakes, of Richmond, passed away in January 2026.
David was born on February 5, 1967, in Bangor, Maine, to Linwood Oakes Sr. and Marilyn Oakes.
For more than 40 years, David worked as a contract planner with the Department of Transportation. He took pride in his work and was known for his steady presence, strong work ethic, and reliability.
Music was a steady presence in David's life. He loved playing guitar, writing music, singing, and anything that had to do with music. It brought him joy, and it's one of the things those who knew him will remember most about him.
He is survived by his daughter, Jessica; son, Joshua; mother, Marilyn; brothers, Ken and Linwood Jr.; sister, Belinda; grandchildren, August and Oliver; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Linwood Sr., and his brother, Greg.
Visiting hours will be held on February 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant Street, Richmond, ME, where all are welcome to gather and share memories of David's life.
