Gardiner- Oliver Kent Bourget passed away peacefully in the afternoon hours of October 31, 2025 at home. He was born in Augusta on May 8, 1937, the son of Romain Jospeh and Mildred Abbie French Bourget.
Oliver attended Cony High School. He was in the Army from 1957 to 1960. Oliver attained the rank SP-5 and was stationed in Verdun, France with the 61st Military Police Company PLT. He was discharged with a good conduct medal.
Oliver married the love of his life of 63 years, Carolyn T. Cady of Randolph. They created a beautiful family with a daughter, Susan Bourget. She was the apple of his eye.
He worked at Bates Manufacturing in Augusta and the Adjutant Generals Dept for 3 years, O.B. Cannon Construction, and BIW for 32 years before retiring.
Oliver is predeceased by his parents Romain and Mildred, sisters Sylvia Bourget and Violet Bourget, brothers Romeo and his wife Judith,Romain Bourget, Bruce Bourget and a nephew Mitchell bourget.
He is survived by his beloved wife Carolyn, daughter Susan, brother-in-law Kenneth Cady and wife Susan, sister in-laws Judy and Nancy Bourget, nephew Lawrence Bourget of NC, great nephews Sabastian and Xavier, nieces Sylvia and husband Romeo Roy Jr. of Augusta, great nieces Alexis and Rachel Roy, Mercedes, Gabriel, and Jacqueline.
Per Oliver’s request, there will be no services. A celebration of life will be held in the summer for family and friends.
