Donald "Donnie" E. Pomelow, Jr., of Bowdoin, passed away peacefully at Russell Park Rehabilitation & Living Center on August 24, 2025, surrounded by many loved ones after an extended period of declining health. For the past four years, he made his home with his brother, David and sister-in-law, Lori who lovingly cared for him.

Donnie was the son of Donald E. Pomelow, Sr., and Elaine (Holman) Pomelow. He was born in Lewiston, ME and educated in the Lisbon Schools.

An outdoorsman at heart, Donnie found happiness in the woods and on the water. He was an avid hunter, known for his passion of both deer hunting, and going on moose hunt(s) of his own, with his brothers David and Rusty, and on moose hunts with two of his nephews Adam and Zac. He enjoyed fishing with his Dad, and other family & friends. His love of nature was matched only by the love of his children, grandchildren, family, and enthusiasm for NASCAR—especially his admiration for Dale Earnhardt, Sr., his all-time favorite driver in the #3 car.

A "jack of all trades," Donnie enjoyed puttering in auto mechanics, always tinkering under hoods. Over the years he worked as a carpenter and general laborer. Family and friends will remember Donnie for his adventurous spirit, quick wit, and the way he lived life on his own terms. He had a gift for storytelling and "bullshitting," keeping family and friends laughing and entertained. He was happiest being with family & friends whom he leaves countless stories that will be shared for years to come. He once told a story of being out on a fishing trawler and getting slapped in his ribs by a whales' tale!  He's leaving behind forever memories of French style green beans mixed into Italian Chop Suey, and deer hunts with the largest bucks having antlers too large to even mount.

Donnie is survived by his children; Donald E. Pomelow III; Brandy Pomelow; Shannon Pomelow; Charity Pomelow; Rachel (Pomelow) Rogers; Melissa West; and Sierra Pomelow; grandchildren; Jasmine Pomelow, Mathew Jackson, Nathaniel Hooper, Sebastian Heimerl-Pomelow, Serenity Pomelow, Ariel Riel, Ian Allen, Hunter Eaton, and Kayleigh West. Siblings; John (Rodilyn) Pomelow; David (Lori) Pomelow; Lisa (Randy) Small; and Russell (Cynthia) Pomelow. He is also survived by several aunts: Barbara Baxter, Patsy Rollins, and Raylene Brockman, an uncle: Ronald Holman, Sr., many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were like family, as well as his step-son, Chad (Misty)Theriault, their children, and Chad's mother, Rosemarie Fields, who remained a very close friend. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald E Pomelow, Sr., and his mother Elaine (Holman) Pomelow.

A Celebration of Life to honor him and to share stories & memories of his time with those he loved, will be held on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, at the Lisbon Left Hand Club, Old County (Wagg Road), Lisbon, ME from 1-4 PM. A private burial will be held at the Hillside Cemetery.

A special thank you to the compassionate and caring staff of Russell Park Rehab, who provided outstanding care during Donnie's most difficult days of failing health and surrounded him with such love. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Russell Park (Resident) Activity Fund, 158 Russell St., Lewiston, ME 04240
