Shirley Ann Roy (Ames) of Richmond passed away at Glenridge in Augusta on February 19, 2025. She was born November 8, 1941 in Rockport, Maine to Arene Rose Troiani and Theodore Merrill Ames.
Shirley worked at Pine Tree Association and was also a housewife. She was a member of the Ladies of Isabella- Knights of Columbus, (Club of Memba) for many years. Shirley enjoyed feeding her birds, reading, walking, socializing, singing and dancing, arts and crafts, friends and playing cards. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family and having campfires and family cookouts. Shirley was a strong, brave, loving woman who didn’t let anything stand in her way and was never one to give up what was worth fighting for Memba!
She is predeceased by her loving husband Robert J Roy Sr. of 63 years, her Father and Mother Theodore and Arene Ames, and her sister Patty.
Shirley is survived by son and daughter in law Scott & Michelle Roy, son and daughter in law John & Debbie Roy, brother Russell & Joey Ames, Brother Ted and Barbara Ames, Sister Evlynn (Ames) G, Son Robert J Roy Jr, Daughter Robyn & Brad Jepson, Grandchildren, Brook, Mercedes, Wyatt, Anthony, Kristin, Kaitlyn, Jennifer, Michael, Robert III, several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
At Shirley’s request, there will be no funeral service held.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Jude’s Children Hospital.
