Sterling R. Halsey

pic HalseyBowdoinham-Sterling Raymond Halsey, 87, passed away on April 28, 2023 at his home.
He was born on July 30, 1935 in Newbury, NY the son of Raymond Foster Halsey & Josephine Bernadette O'Brien.
Sterling was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and Retreads Motorcycle Club. Sterling had a strong Catholic Faith and attended church every Sunday.
He enjoyed motorcycling, farming, sailing, bicycling, jogging, skiing,
rock tumbling, "puttering about" on home projects, home brewing beer and dandelion wine, camping, spending time with family and friends.
Sterling proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 20
years as a Flight Engineer. After retirement he worked as an electrician and later opened his own Cobbler shop.
His last occupation was working at the USVA Togus.
He was predeceased by his parents, wife Beverly Jeanne Halsey, infant son Paul Anthony Halsey, all Halsey and O'Brien family members.
Sterling is survived by son Raymond Halsey, daughters Roburta Halsey, Mary Halsey, sons George Halsey, Sean Halsey, 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Immediately after, there will be an open invitation reception at 52 Halsey Lane, Bowdoinham, ME 04008.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on June 6th, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Richmond.
No graveside services - Family Burial.
