Stan grew up in Brunswick, ME, and graduated from Brunswick High School. It was there that he met his best friend Rocky’s sister, Melodie Harmon. After a few years of dating, they were married on August 14, 1982. Over the course of their 43 years together, they had two sons, Adam (Brittany Doughty) and Christopher (Ashley Carter), and were blessed with four grandchildren: Brooke, Oliver, Hailey, and Wyatt.

A hardworking entrepreneur, Stan owned and operated S&B Foundations for the past 20 years and worked as an escavator operator for Fletcher’s Construction. He had previously owned S&B Transport and Burnham’s Restaurant, and worked as an outside contractor at Harcon Iron and Steel in the shipyard. He was always dedicated to providing for his family.

Stan’s passion for work was only rivaled by his love of stock car racing. He raced for 14 years and, in his later years, enjoyed traveling to various race tracks. He also loved food trails, exploring new restaurants, and traveling to new places. A man of simple pleasures, Stan found peace in relaxing by the water’s edge or enjoying time at the Riverwalk Resort in the White Mountains. He had an undeniable love for travel, always eager to explore new places.

Stan is survived by his mother, Jeannine Burnham; his wife, Melodie; his sons and their wives, Adam (Brittany Doughty Burnham) and Christopher (Ashley Carter Burnham); his four grandchildren; his brother, Michael Burnham; his mother-in-law, Shirley Harmon; his sister-in-law, Melissa Douglass and her husband Dennis Douglass; Forever treasured friends and travel companions Mike and Lisa St. Cyr;  special friends Kevin Fletcher and Bob Jones and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends, and colleagues,

A celebration of life will be held on January 4, 2025, at 1:30 PM at the Barn at Hatch Point, 1411 River Rd, Bowdoinham, ME. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CHANS Home Hospice Program in Stan’s memory.

Stan lived his life on his own terms, which, at times, wasn’t the easiest route, but he always made it memorable. We’ll laugh, we’ll cry, and we’ll miss the person who somehow made us feel both loved and challenged. God has him in His arms, and we have him in our hearts forever.
