AUGUSTA – Michael Dorian McCollett, Sr., 75 of Augusta, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2024.  Michael was born on October 1, 1949 in Gardiner the seventh child of John V. McCollett, Sr. and Beatrice (Guilmain) McCollett.

He graduated from Gardiner High School in 1968.  He worked for the Kennebec Journal for 27 years and retiring in 1997.  He then worked for Woodmaster of Maine for 3 years. 

Michael was also a member of the Augusta Elks Lodge #964 for 32 years. 

Michael was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Donald; David; John and Peter, a sister Mercedies Kelly.  He is survived by his wife Cathy, two sons Michael Jr. (Amy) of Augusta; Daniel (Candace) of Colorado Springs, five grandchildren, Sophia (Katherine), Helaina (John), Iain (Kaley), Kale and Cora and several nieces and nephews. 

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him, through his work and his time at the Elks Lodge.  Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kincer Funeral Home in Richmond.  A celebration of life will be planned for the Summer of 2025.  Date and time to be determined.
