Alice "Betsy" Martin
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Betsy Martin, 83, died unexpectedly July 1, 2024, at home. She was born Sept. 10, 1940, in Dexter, the daughter of Quentin D. and Maxine E. (Curtis) Sprague.
Betsy graduated from Edward Little High School, class of 1958. Following graduation, she married Harold Callahan and had three children Scott, Nancy, and Sean. Harold and Betsy divorced in 1985 and she later remarried David A. Martin in Virginia Beach, Va. and moved to Waterloo, Ind.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by both of her past husbands; sisters Nancy and Sally, as well as her brother, Michael. S
urviving are her children Scott, Nancy and Sean.
Betsy’s faith in God was most essential in her life and she dedicated much of her time to reading scripture. Once she moved to Virginia Beach, Va., she started her own catering and cleaning company. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, sewing and refinishing antique furniture.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 10-11am with a service of remembrance at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18 at Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant St., Richmond, ME 04357. Interment will be at the Curtis Family Cemetery, Richmond.
