Andy Desjardins
Andy Desjardins, 60, of Bowdoinham, passed on April 15, 2024, at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn, with his wife by his side, after battling pancreatic cancer.
Andy was born in Brunswick on October 17,1963, the son of Orel and Joan (Alexander) Desjardins.
Anyone that knew Andy knew what a hard worker he was, starting out as young as 11 years old helping the janitor at Bowdoinham Community School. When he got older, he loved working on Raymond Mayo’s farm in Bowdoinham. He went on to work at Knapp Shoe in Lewiston, Etonic Shoe in Richmond, drove as a center liner for Pine State Safety Lines in Topsham, and worked as a foreman for Moore Painting in Brunswick before starting his own successful painting business in 1999, A.D. Painting, which he maintained until his death.
Andy enjoyed 4 wheeling, fishing, & hunting. But what he lived for was taking care of his family & spoiling his grandchildren.
Andy was predeceased by his father Orel Desjardins and his daughter Kayla Seigars.
He is survived by his mother Joan Goodenow of Oxford, his wife of 36 years Kim Smith Desjardins of Bowdoinham, his daughter Tabatha Lumbert & partner Chris Blake of Richmond, son Darrin Desjardins & partner Ashley Smith of Freeport, son Joshua Desjardins & fiancé Nicole Whitcomb of Bowdoin, son Brandon Desjardins & wife Riley of Bowdoinham, brother Orrin Desjardins of Norridgewock, brother Orel Desjardins, Jr. & wife Lorraine of Bowdoinham, sister Laurie Desjardins Auger & husband Damian of Oxford, 10 grandchildren, several nieces & nephews and his beloved dog Suzie.
At his request, there will be no funeral service. However, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
