Patrick "Rick" Coughlin

CoughlinRichmond-Patrick “Rick” Coughlin, 76, passed away on Wednesday, December
29, 2021, at Maine Medical Center, Portland, Maine after a long battle with
cancer.

Rick was born in 1945 to Merilna and Edward Coughlin of Richmond, Maine. He
was the youngest of seven children. In 1979 he married Deborah Knight and
they had three children, Michael, Sean, and Sarah.

Rick was a sixth grade teacher for Richmond Middle School until retiring in
2006.  His true passion was coaching, he coached Middle School boys
basketball, High School boys soccer, and High School girls softball for
Richmond where he won 5 state championships in soccer and 7 state
championships in softball.  Rick also coached the Richmond softball team
that had one of the longest winning streaks for high school softball in US
history at 88 wins.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines Corps during the Vietnam
War.

Rick enjoyed drinking Coors Light with his friends while talking Richmond
Sports, watching his grandchildren and fighting bamboo.

He is survived by his wife Deborah and their son's Michael and wife Nana of
NY, Sean and wife Sarah of CT, daughter Sarah of CT., a sister Louise Snow,
grandchildren Gabriella, Mirabel, Evienne, and several nieces and nephews.

No services will be held at this time.  A celebration of Life will  take
place at a later date.
