Dorothy V. Rouillard
Richmond-Dorothy V. Rouillard, 93, passed peacefully at home July 1st, 2021, while surrounded by family.
Dorothy was born September 16th, 1927 to George and Vivian McMaster of Richmond. Dot graduated from Richmond High School in 1945, married Leo Rouillard January 1st, 1955 and settled down in Augusta.
Dot went to work for the State of Maine for many years as a dictator. Upon retirement in 1971, she stayed home tending to the neighborhood kids and her parents.
She was a member if the VFW Post 132 auxiliary, where she attending meetings and every year went to the family lobster and clam festival. A few of her hobbies were gardening flowers and vegetables, bird watching, and knitting. Knitting was a huge part of her life, she was always making socks, hats, and scarfs for family members. Also, blankets for new grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids.
Dot’s willingness to help was seen throughout her life and community, she loved making hats and mittens for kids at Marcia Bunker Elementary school every year so no kid went without during winter. She would drop blankets off to veterans at Maine Veterans’ Home in Augusta and the assisted living home in Richmond. She was always up for a good road trip with family and going to ball games to watch her grandkids and great grandkids play. In the summertime you could find her down at camp, mowing the lawn or sitting in her rocking chair watching the loons.
Dot is survived by daughters; Sheila Bartlett of Jefferson, Sylvia Brann & husband James of Whitefield; Grandchildren; Jeffery McMaster & wife Amanda of Richmond, James Brann & wife Shannon of Whitefield, Randy Brann & wife Sarah, Melissa Higgins & fiancé Don Plante of Richmond, Glenn Bartlett & wife Michelle of Augusta, great grandchildren; Carrie from Waterville, Tanner McMaster of Augusta, Kayla Lorbeski & husband Peter of Richmond, Katelyn Plante of Richmond, Zachary Barto of Richmond, Vanessa Bartlett of Jefferson, Kyisha Bartlett of Jefferson, Mercedes St. Pierre of Augusta, Olivia and Cassidy Brann of Whitefield, great great grandchildren; Dominik Bell of Waterville, Gavin Cloutier, Jase, and Jetta McMaster of Augusta, Eliana Lorbeski of Richmond, Bentley St. Pierre of Augusta, niece Rhonda and nephew Glenn McMaster, sister in-law Rita Rouillard of Saco, step son Robert Rouillard of Lakeland Washington, step grandson's Ronnie Rouillard of Turner, Kevin Rouillard of Lewiston, step granddaughter Lisa Bell and step daughter in-law Claire Rouillard of Lewiston.
She was predeceased by husband Leo Rouillard, Ronald Rouillard stepson, Alfred McMaster brother, George McMaster father, Vivian McMaster mother.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, July 19th, 2021 from noon to 1pm at the funeral home. A funeral service will follow at 1pm. Burial will take place in the Cotton Cemetery, Richmond..
