FREEPORT - Beatrice Ann Harrington, age 85, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Freeport Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Freeport, ME. 

She was born July 13, 1933 to William & Muriel Chamberlain and grew up in Belchertown, MA.  She was a graduate of Charlestown High School.  Beatrice “Bea” married Douglas H. Harrington Sr. on January 19, 1952 and they eventually settled in Dresden, ME.  Bea worked at Etonic Shoe in Richmond, ME for many years.

Bea loved the ocean, being outside in the sunshine, her weekly hair appointments with good friend Mary, and spending time with her grandchildren and family. Bea was an avid reader and book collector. She was predeceased by her husband Douglas in 2010. She leaves behind her brother William Chamberlain from Lowell, MA; two sons: Douglas (Louise) Harrington Jr and Dwight (Lorna) Harrington; grandsons Ross & Ryan Harrington, granddaughter Brooke (Anin) Maskay and great granddaughter Cambria; granddaughter Angie Jordan, numerous great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She will be missed dearly by her family who fondly call her: “Bea”, “Mom”, “Meme”, or “Great Meme”.

There will be no services and the family would like to sincerely thank the employees of the Freeport Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their supportive care.
