Dresden-Allen M. Cherkis, 79, of the Calls Hill Rd., passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at his home.

He was born on December 6, 1938 in Philadelphia, Pa the son of Nathan and Loretta Cherkis.

Allen proudly served his country in the United States Navy, retiring after 23 years of service as a Chief Petty Officer. He later worked for Lockheed as a senior technician.

Allen was a member of the Knights of Columbus and chairman of the Dresden Republican Committee.

He enjoyed walking in the woods on his property, swimming with dolphins off the coral reefs of St. Croix, and spending time with his family, especially his wife Marina.

Allen is survived by his wife Marina Cherkis, son’s Allen E., Richard D., John S., Steven M., David B. Cherkis. He is also survived by many beloved grandchildren Cyra, Ryan, Jaid, Eli, Baylee, Brewster, Maddi, Allen (little Al), Andrew, Aaron, Amanda, Christina, Tyler, Dylan, Julia, great grandchildren Gavin and Kylie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 26^th at 11am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Richmond
