Geraldine M. Skinner

Geraldine Skinner picPLEASANT HILL, IA - Geraldine Mae Skinner, 92, passed away on February 22, 2018.  Geraldine spent the last years of her life under the able care of the staff at Parkridge Specialty Care in Pleasant Hill, Iowa and Trinity Center at Luther Park in Des Moines, Iowa.

Geraldine graduated from Gardiner High School in Gardiner, Maine.  She met her husband, Wilbur (Will) B. Skinner, while she was working in a naval ship yard in Bath, Maine.  They married on September 8, 1945.  Together, they made their home in Boston and later moved to Richmond, Maine.  They lived along the Kennebec River in a beautiful cabin where she loved to entertain her family.  In 2009, Geraldine moved to Iowa to be close to family.

Geraldine was a real estate agent for many years.  She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary and the Golden Oldies Senior Center in Richmond, Maine.  She was appointed by the governor of Maine to be a member of the Commission of Maine’s Future. 

Geraldine is survived by her nephew, R. Alden (Donna) Skinner, niece, Lois J. Skinner, great-niece, Geri (Dan) Huser, great-niece, Julie (Mark) Stewart, great-nephew, Kyle (Angela) Skinner, great-nephew, Troy (Heather) Skinner, great-nephew, R. Bradley (Chaille) Skinner, great-niece, Darcee Skinner, sister-in-law, Marian Skinner Metcalfe and many great-great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur B. Skinner, her parents, and her nephew, Ed Skinner.

Burial services will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Forest Hill Cemetery, Dresden, Maine.
