Jeannette R. Douglas

BOWDOIN – Jeannette Rose Douglas, 79, of Bowdoin passed away at her home in Bowdoin on Thursday, April 05, 2018. She was born on August 4, 1938 and was the daughter of Earnest and Agnes Gile of Irasburg, VT.

Jeannette was employed as a stitcher by Healthdex, Inc. in Gardiner and by Hallowell Shoe Co. in Augusta. Later she worked as a dietary aide at Heritage Home in Winthrop until she retired in 2001. Then she and her husband Kenneth moved to Tavares, FL where they resided for several years.

Jeannette loved her family and particularly enjoyed the summertime and Christmas get-togethers with them. She also loved cooking new recipes, knitting, cross-stitching projects, and caring for her plants.
She also enjoyed reading about them, focusing on new ideas, while incorporating some of her own. She will be dearly missed by her family.

Jeannette is predeceased by her husband Kenneth Douglas; brother, Howard Gile; sister, Rebecca; and infant brother, Earnest.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Woods and husband Eric of Bowdoin; sons, Steven Douglas and wife Kathy of San Diego, and Mark Douglas and wife Linda of Lake Havasu, AZ; she is also survived by her grandchildren, Benjamin, Woods, Amanda Martin and husband William, Erica Woods, Wayne Douglas and wife Jessica, Jennifer Douglas, Katie Douglas, Desiree Patterson and husband Sean, and Emily Horton and husband Aaron; six great grandchildren, Alexander Martin, Adam Martin, Elodie Grace Victoria Martin, Aiden Patterson, Ronan Patterson, and Penelope Horton.
