Sharon Newton
Augusta-Sharon E. Newton, 75, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in her sleep Sunday, December 17, 2017.
Sharon was born Gardiner on September 17, 1942 the daughter of Walter L. and Marie V. (Flagg) Greenleaf.
She was raised in West Gardiner, attending and graduating from Gardiner High School.
Sharon worked for many years at Kirschner's in Augusta until the doors closed. She later moved on to Digital working in the shipping and receiving department until her retirement.
She loved singing, sharing her music, entertaining, cooking, outdoors, hiking, kayaking, biking, camping and fishing. She also loved to travel, taking her grandsons bird hunting and granddaughters hiking through the streams in the Jackman area. Sharon particularly loved her grandchildren and great grand babies, always asking about them all. Seeing each one grow always put a smile on her face, she was happy and proud of every single one of them. Sharon was a giving person always wanting to make others happy, she would give her shirt off her back to help the next person. Sharon sure did what she wanted and lived her life to the fullest.
Sharon had a deep faith in God, attending Calvary Four Square Church for 20 years.
Sharon is predeceased by her parents, brothers Dana and John, sisters Nancy, Carole and Cheryl. She is survived by her children Scott Newton and wife Tammy of West Gardiner, Kelly Clark and husband Thomas of Richmond, Thomas Newton and wife Suzanne of West Gardiner, Tammy Hodgkins of Richmond, siblings David and wife Ida Greenleaf of Litchfield, Walter and wife Diane Greenleaf of Vassalboro, Karen and husband Ben Slater of Texas, Sandy Greenleaf Boucher of Florida, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grand babies, several nieces and nephews.
At Sharon's request there will be no services. A graveside services will take place in the spring. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Calvary Four Square Church 109 Old Brunswick Rd. Gardiner, Me 04345
