Dawn L. Cousins
Dawn L. Cousins, 87, of Woolwich, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Midcoast Hospital. She was born in Brunswick, Maine on December 9, 1929 a daughter of Donald L. and Hilda (Jaquith) Avery.
Raised in Bath and a graduate of Morse High School, Class of 1947, she had been looking forward to their 70th reunion this year.
Dawn was a “Domestic Goddess,” raising her family at their home in Woolwich. She was a lifetime member of the Pitman-Morrison VFW Ladies Auxiliary and an avid bowler traveling with the Professional Woman’s Bowling Association. Through bowling and with her husband, she was able to travel the country and enjoy all of its beauty, but she was most fond of the family camp at Bay Point.
Dawn is survived by her daughters; Hilda Moss and her husband Thomas of Pittsfield and Wanda Spear and her husband Karl of Woolwich, as well as her 5 grandchildren; Heather Moore, Shawn Phelps and his companion Jennifer Sproul, Erin Verburgt and her husband Ben, Brett Fortier and Dawn Moss. She also leaves behind her great grandchildren: Cameron Phelps, Maggie Moore, Hannah Moore, Xander Verburgt, Jaxon Verburgt and a special friend Mary Hicks of Woolwich.
Dawn was predeceased by her parents, her husband Robert Cousins in 2006 and her sister Beatrice Avery in 1946.
