John F. Carver

Richmond – John F. Carver, 84, of Richmond passed away at Mt. St. Joseph’s Nursing Home in Waterville on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. He was born in Richmond, Me on January 8, 1933, a son of the late Weston and Mabel (Hinkley) Carver.

John was educated in local schools and worked for Hallowell Shoe before he went on to the maintenance department at BIW for 45 years. John was also a Richmond Fire fighter and was very proud to have served as Fire Chief for 15 years.

John was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was also know to putter around the house, always finding something to fix.

John is survived by his beloved wife Marguerite (Anderson) Carver, son; Larry Carter, and his grandchildren Ryan and Troy Carter.  He also leaves his siblings, Dennis Carver, Leighton Carver and Shirley Tourtellotte as well and several nieces and nephews.

John was predeceased by his parents, and his siblings; Margaret, Weston and Sherwood.
