Ronald Dyer
Richmond-Ronald L. Dyer, 72, died on Thursday June 16, 2016 at the VA, Togus after a very brief illness.
He was born on July 27, 1943 in Augusta the son of Herbert and Mava Dyer. He attended Erskine Academy and served in the Air National Guard for a number of years.
He has been an elder pastor at Shepherd of Faith Ministries and involved with meals for seniors at the church.
He spent most of his years as a carpenter. Ron also worked at Bath Iron Works and on the construction of Maine Yankee, retiring in 2000.
Ron will be especially be remembered for the great zeal he had for ministering the Gospel.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Sherolyn Dyer of Richmond and all his children: Scott and wife Myu Dyer, Victoria and husband James Glusker, Brandi and husband Stephen Hayes, Rawni and wife Sarah Dyer, step daughters Shelley Velderrain, Tanya Baldassini, siblings Carmen Dyer, David and Brenda Dyer, Donald and Pat Dyer, Sharon and David Clements. Also, many grandchildren.
Ron was predeceased by his parents, brothers Royce, Howard and Richard Dyer.
A celebration of his life will be at the Shepherd of Faith Church in Richmond on Saturday the 25th of June at 3:30pm.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff at the SKU Unit, Togus VA for all the love and kindness shown to Ron and family during his last days.
