Gregory Tourtelotte
PITTSTON - Gregory Thomas Tourtelotte, 63, of Pittston, died on April 26, 2016, at 12:45 a.m. in Augusta. He was born on March 4, 1953, son of Chester Leroy Tourtelotte and Laura Vema Tourtelotte. Greg passed peacefully surrounded by his family and lots of love.
Greg was retired from the Department of Transportation for the State of Maine. He also held jobs at Togus, Camp Keyes, the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, and was a welder at Bath Iron Works. In high school, Greg played football and track. He graduated from Gardiner Area High School, class of 1972, and then went on to serve in the Navy. As a child, Greg was proud to be a paper boy in the town of Randolph.
Greg's greatest passion was his camp on Coburn Mountain, where he was an active member of the Upper Enchanted Road Association. He enjoyed bringing his family to camp, especially his grandsons, and doing activities such as, kayaking, snowmobiling, four wheeling, hunting, and fishing. Greg was a jack of all trades, some of which included a woodsman, hunter, and farmer. Greg had a huge heart and enjoyed helping people, whether it be odd jobs on his tractor, mowing lawns, rototilling gardens, or plowing driveways.
Greg is predeceased by his father, Chester. He is survived by his mother, Laura; his wife Vicki; his children Mike and Ashley, daughter-in-law, Jennifer; his beloved grandchildren, Gavin, Tyler, and Cainan; and his siblings, Jeff, Theresa, Sherry and Paul.
Visiting hours for Greg will be on Tuesday, May 10 from 6-8 p.m. at Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant Street, Richmond. Reception to follow, inquire with the family. Greg will be buried at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Augusta on Wednesday, May 11 at 2 p.m. There will be a celebration of life to follow at the family's home.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Gardiner Area High School Athletic Department &
