Betty C. Moore
RICHMOND – Betty C. Moore, 73, of Richmond passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 6th, 2016 at Hospice House in Auburn after a short battle with cancer.
She was born on August 22, 1942 in Eastport, Maine, the daughter of Lewis and Millicent McPhail.
Betty was raised and educated in Perry, Maine. In 1965 she married the love of her life, Raymond Moore. They enjoyed almost 50 years of marriage together. They raised five children and lived many years in Eastport before moving to Richmond so Raymond could take a job at Bath Iron Works. Shortly after settling in Richmond Betty started her own daycare that she ran successfully for over 20 years.
Betty loved playing the slot machines and taking trips to Oxford Casino, Hollywood Slots, and Foxwoods with her family. Her family was her life. She especially loved caring for her own grandchildren at her daycare.
She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Moore.
She is survived by her children Greg, Jeff, Debra, Kimmy, and Dianna; many wonderful grandchildren, and special great grandchildren.
At her request there will be no services at this time, however a graveside service will be announced later in the spring.
