Charles A. Trott

Charles TrottRICHMOND – Charles A. Trott, 86, of Richmond died on Friday, September 25, 2015 in Augusta.  He was born on May 14, 1929 in Weymouth, MA, the son of Walter R. and Bertha L. (Brown) Trott.

Charles graduated from Richmond High School in 1946. He joined the Army in July 1946, serving as a clerk/typist until January 1948.  He worked as a telephone operator in Richmond, and as a hospital orderly in Lewiston.  Charles then went on to work for Bath Iron Works for approximately 40 years, as Administrative Planner for the Harding Plant, retiring in 1990.  After retiring from BIW, he worked part-time as a CNA at Thornton Hall in Brunswick into his 70s.

In the 1950s and 60s, Charles was an active member of the Richmond chapter of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.  He loved the Maine State Music Theatre in Brunswick and regularly attended shows there from the early 1960s through 2015.  He was also very active in the Richmond High School Alumni Association, including serving as its president.

Charles is predeceased by his parents, a brother, Leo Trott, his former wife, Madeline “Buzzy” Trott, and a nephew, Roger Trott.

He is survived by his son, Kevin Trott of Clinton, NY; sister-in-law, Janet Trott of Richmond and her children:  niece, Sharon Trott of Topsham and her children and grandson; niece, Pam Duquette and husband Michael of Gardiner and their children and grandchildren; nephew, Walter Trott and wife Sue of Richmond and their children; nephew, Darrell Trott of Richmond; and niece, Carole Backscheider and husband Richard of Lusby, MD and their children.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Saturday October 10, 2015 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant St. in Richmond.
