Craig M. King

Craig King 8014 4x5 300dpiBOWDOIN - Craig M. King, 56, of Bowdoin, ME passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Bodwell Hospice Unit after a courageous battle with cancer. Craig was born at Mercy Hospital in Portland on March 30, 1959, the son of Walter M. King and Sarah King.
 
Craig was educated through the Lewiston school system. He started his career working for L & A Concrete of Lewiston. He then worked in marine construction, bridge construction and commercial diving for Reed & Reed of Woolwich. For the last 15 plus years, Craig has worked as a Millwright for Boston Local 1121. Craig enjoyed and took great pride in his work as a Millwright. Since 2004, he worked for the Siemens Generation Services at nuclear power plants throughout the United States. 
 
Craig most enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and friend. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to spend time hunting, fishing, camping, and golfing. He enjoyed vacationing with his family, working around his home, bee keeping, and in recent years riding his motorcycle.
 
Craig is predeceased by his father Walter M. King. 
 
He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth and daughter, Shannon; his son, Travis and wife Lauren of Lewiston; step-son, Jesse Caron of Fort Lauderdale, FL.; his mother, Sarah King of Mechanic Falls; brother, Mark C. King and wife Karen of Dover; and brother David A. King and wife Maryann of East Corinth as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
 
The family extends a sincere, heartfelt thank you to The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing,  Fore River Urology, the oncology staff and nurses of Mercy Hospital, Dr. Sarah Ketchum and staff at Mercy Oncology, the Dana Farber Institute, Dr. Celine Godin of Maine Medical Center, the staff at Coastal Cancer Treatment Center, CHANS Hospice staff, the nurses and staff on the Bodwell Unit at Mid Coast Senior Health Center,  Fr. Murray of All Saints Parish, and all the wonderful family and friends who have loved, supported, and given  comfort to Craig and his family through this long and most painful journey.  
 
A Catholic mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Brunswick.  
A reception will follow.
