Sonja G. Durgin
Richmond-Sonja G. Durgin, 74, of the Brunswick Rd., passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 14, 2015 at her home.
She was born on March 11, 1941 in Augusta the daughter of Andrew and Arleen Tuttle.
Sonja graduated from Hall Dale High School the class of 1959. She worked as an office manager for her and her husbands business for many years. Sonja was a longtime member of the Women's Legion Auxiliary Post 132 in Richmond and the Eastern Star Electa Chapter in Bowdoinham.
She was was predeceased by her parents, husband Daniel Durgin and grandchild Herbert William Barry. Sonja is survived by her son Herb Barry and significant other Kiley Pisano of Florida, Daughter Wendy and husband Loren of Richmond, grandchildren Rory Barry, Nicole Lilly, Loren Lilly, step children Angie, Marie and Dan and their children. Also, sisters Johanna Morton of Hallowell, Andrea Beckim and husband Carl of Richmond, Margaret Gordon and husband Ronald of Norridgewock, brother Andrew Tuttle and wife Janet of Lisbon Falls, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was loved by all and will be remembered as the hat lady.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, August 17th from 4 to 7pm at the funeral home. A funeral service be held on Tuesday, August 18th at 11am at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 4 Hasson St. Farmingdale with a burial to follow at the Maine Ave. Cemetery, Farmingdale.
