RICHMOND - Karin Gwozdz, 55, of Stuttgart Germany, passed away on Monday, February 16^th 2015 in Richmond ME.

Karin was born on March 5^th, 1959 to Lydia Moosman and Paul Knittel in Stuttgart, Germany. Karin grew up in Germany, starting her a career as a banker. During this time she was able to travel throughout Europe and experience many adventures.

Karin met her life partner, Joseph, in 1985 while he was serving the United States Army and stationed in Germany. When Joseph returned to the United States after his duty was completed, Karin joined. They moved to Maine in 1986. Karin quickly built a career in real estate and sales.

Karin and Joseph welcomed two children, Janina born May 12^th 1988 and Zachary born April 4^th 1994. 

Karin enjoyed cooking (especially German food) and watching the food network. Karin also enjoyed acrylic painting, crafting, antiquing and hunting for bargains. Karin’s greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family, who will miss her greatly.

Karin is predeceased by her father, Paul. She is survived by her mother Lydia, partner of 30 years Joseph, daughter Janina, son Zachary, brother Michael (Dagmar) and nieces Jessica and Mona.

A time of visitation will take place on Friday, February 27^th 2015 at Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant Street, Richmond, from 2-3pm, with a service to follow at 3pm.
