Edythe J. Nolan
BRUNSWICK - Edythe Nolan, 86, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2015 at Horizons Living and Rehabilitation Center in Brunswick, Maine.
Edythe was born in Vinalhaven, Maine on June 28, 1928. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Alice Hall. She was married to Malcolm Whittington, also of Vinalhaven, and later in her life to Darwin Nolan of Waltham, Massachusetts and was predeceased by both.
Edythe enjoyed traveling among many other things. She especially enjoyed her trips to California to visit her son, Richard, and their excursions to Las Vegas.
In 2009, she moved to Amenity Manor in Topsham, Maine and later to the new facility, Horizons Living and Rehabilitation Center in Brunswick, Maine. Here, her family grew. She quickly became loved by the staff that enjoyed her wit and ability to put them at ease with her joking manner. She was caring and compassionate to the other residents who respected and loved her as well. She thought of Horizons as her home where she was content and happy. She loved to play Bingo three times a week and took it very seriously. She was also very lucky and won often.
She is survived by her son Richard Whittington of Murrieta, California, her daughters Terry Bell of Richmond, Maine and Carol Robinson of Dayton, Maine. She has five grandchildren, Cathy, Steven, Aaron, Casey and Keifer, as well as five great grandchildren, Abigail, Rachel, Wyatt, Trent and Claire.
Edythe Nolan, cherished by so many, will be missed but never forgotten. She will remain in the hearts of her children and those who love her, forever.
A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, from 1 to 2pm with a service to follow at Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant Street, Richmond.
