Michael W. Farmer
TOPSHAM – Michael W. Farmer, 56, of the Brunswick area passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 25, 2015. He was born in Brunswick on September 27, 1958, one of seven children to Royal and Mary (Campbell) Farmer. Mike was brought up and educated in Brunswick.
Mike’s career and love of cooking began while he was in high school and continued throughout his life. Not long after school he married Dawn Rhoda and together they had two daughters. For over 20 years Mike was employed with Bowdoin College where he was able to expand his culinary talents. They offered him opportunities to attend culinary classes to learn more about various aspects of cooking and catering events. Mike held many positions in area restaurants throughout his later years, and most recently he had rediscovered his love for restaurant work at his family’s restaurant, Annabella’s, in Richmond. His presence at the café completed the team and he will be greatly missed.
Mike greatly enjoyed his grandchildren, and loved being with his family. Any chance he could get near the water and throw a line in, he would take it. He loved his dogs, working on cars, Peanut the goat and pulling a good prank or practical joke on friends and co-workers.
Mike was predeceased by his parents, and his longtime companion Mary Ponziani.
He is survived by his two daughters, Ashley Farmer of Tennessee, and Samantha Farmer of Brunswick; his two grandchildren, Adriana Bernier, and Noah Cressey; his siblings, Debbie Caron and Don of Bowdoin; Mark Farmer and Brenda of Topsham; Barbara Bowley and Bud of Bowdoinham; Pam Sodergren and Frank of Bowdoin; Kelley Favreau and Paul of Topsham; Marty Farmer and Libby of Woolwich; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a gathering to celebrate his life on Saturday, February 7th at 3:00 pm at the Salvation Army Building 25 Congress Ave. Bath, Maine 04530
