Brunswick-Naomi Adelaide (Gates) Matthews, passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Village in Brunswick, Maine.

She was born in Indian Orchard, Massachusetts on October 4, 1926 the daughter of Ralph and Rebekah Gates.

Naomi resided in Hampden, MA for 40 years before retiring to VT with her husband.

She was a longtime member of the Federated Community Church in Hampden where she sang in the church choir.

Naomi was predeceased by her husband Robert A. Matthews Sr., of 65 years and a brother Ralph Gates. She is survived by daughter Debra A. Doyle of Freeport, Maine, sons Robert Jr. of Chicopee and Peter Matthews and wife Sheryl of Newfane, VT., 4 grandchildren Lisa Person and husband Brian of Wilbraham, Matthew Doyle and wife Rebecca of R.I., Rebekah Sidener and husband Jesse of Florida, Ryan Doyle of Hampden, 3 great grandchildren, Abigal and Timothy Person and Bryson Sidener, sister Mary Spencer of Connecticut, many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on August 23^rd at 10am at the Federated Community Church for family and friends. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
