Arlene Gagnon Obituary

Augusta – Arlene M. Gagnon, 87, died on Monday, March 31st, 2014 at her home and was surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Augusta on December 7, 1926 the daughter of the late Adelard and Marie Anne (Boulet).

Arlene was a gentle mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, a loving and caring woman, devoted to her faith and family.


She attended Augusta schools and was a communicant of the St. Augustine Catholic Church. Arlene was a mother and homemaker for most of her life and had worked for several years at Labbe’s Market.

Nothing pleased her more than going to yard sales or spending time with her four great-grandsons.

She was predeceased by her husband Gerard Gagnon; brother Gerard Labbe; sisters SimoneRodrigue and Theresa Veilleux; she is survived by son Mark Gagnon; daughters Jane Gagnon and her partner Sandra Niles, Jill Cogswell and husband Tim; granddaughter Crystal King and husband Scott; grandsons Jason Gagnon and partner Samantha Southers, Oscar Gagnon and wife Amanda, Zachary Gagnon, Cody Cogswell; great-grandsons Killian, Sebastian, Trey, and Attikus Gagnon; step-great-grandsons Alex, Isac, and Cody; brothers Paul and Lucien Labbe; sisters LoretteRancourt and Claudette Masselli and husband Jerome; and 21 nieces, nephews; 41 great nieces and nephews; 29 Great-great nieces and nephews; and many cousins.

At her request there will be no public visiting hours.

Committal service will be he

ld at the Maine Veteran’s Cemetery Chapel on Mt. Vernon Road on Friday, April 4th, at 10 AM . In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations in Arlene’s memory be made to MaineGeneral Medical Center Hospice, 35 Medical Center Parkway , Augusta , ME 04330 or to the Alzheimer Activity Fund, Dresden Avenue , Gardiner , ME 04345.
