Dorothy P. Baker

BOWDOINHAM — Dorothy Towle Baker, 82, of Bowdoinham, passed away Jan. 14, 2014. She was born in Portland on Oct. 2, 1931, the daughter of the late Howard E. and Mable Watson Towle.

Dotty graduated from Brunswick High School and worked various jobs until retiring in November from her job assisting the town assessor. She was also the treasurer for the Bowdoinham Church of the Nazarene.

Her hobbies included listening to blue grass music, craft fairs and always having knitting needles in her hands.

 

She was married to Stanley Baker, who predeceased her in 2000. She was also predeceased by brothers Howard, Thomas, Richard and William Towle and sisters Lillian Towle and Alice Harrington. Survivors include a sister Ruth T. Driscoll of Brunswick, brother Donald F. Towle of Richmond and many nieces, nephews and her cat Babe.

There will be no service at her request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Coastal Humane Society in Brunswick, Me. Interment will be at Bayview Cemetery in Bowdoinham, Me., in the spring.
