Lillian M. Emmons

Lillian M. Emmons, 94, of Lincoln St., passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 18, 2014 in Bath, Maine.

Lillian was born October 2, 1920 in Augusta, Maine to Harry A. Freeman Sr., and Lillian A. (Small) Freeman.

She attended Augusta schools and graduated from Cony High School in 1938. On May 16, 1942 Lillian married William E. Emmons of Richmond in Brunswick, Maine.

Lillian greatly enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her six children and a granddaughter.

Some of her favorite activities included camping, snowmobiling, knitting, Bingo, playing cards, and family gatherings. After retirement she and Bill enjoyed their trips to South Carolina in their motorhome.

She was predeceased by her husband, William E. Emmons Sr. in 2003, a son, William E. Emmons Jr. in 1997, and a brother, Herbert W. Freeman in 1982.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol Carver of Richmond; her sons, Ronald Emmons Sr. and his wife Martha of Richmond, Robert Emmons Sr. and his significant other Andrea Roberts of Augusta, Gary Emmons Sr. and his wife Sandy of Richmond, Richard Emmons Sr. and his wife Sally of Abbot; her brothers, Harry Freeman Jr. of Farmingdale, and Richard Freeman Sr. of Augusta; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to Dr. Linda Hermans, MD for her wonderful care for their mother over many years.

Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 10 to 11am at Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant St. in Richmond. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11am, with a committal service following at Richmond Cemetery.
