Karin J Taylor
Brunswick-Karin Jean Taylor, 53, of Harpswell, died on May 22, 2013 at Mid Coast Hospital.
She was born September 13, 1959 to Marcel and Margaret Nadeau in Rome, NY
Karin was a member of Kappa Delta Phi, National Affiliated Sorority, Kappa Iota Chapter at USM a charter sister of 1978. She was also a field rep for Maine chapters and the boards for the active and alumni associations over the years.
She enjoyed raising Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. She picked up her first pup, Jessie the day she retired, returning to work an hour later, to share the fun of a puppy. Two more pups, Jimbo and Lucy and she started to breed for fun. A litter or two a year brought great joy and happiness and she stayed in touch with the forever homes of the puppies new owners.
Graduating from UMPG, now USM Karin worked as a teller in a local bank until joining Union Mutual in the very early 1980’s in client services. From there she went into underwriting. She left the company for a few years to follow her husband, Ray, taking their son Raymond to Wisconsin to work in a field insurance sales office. Returning to Maine and Unum in 1991, her second son was born Dylan. She went to work in the Portland Sales office as a Sales rep and was the Group Disability Representative of the year in the same year that the family suffered a major house fire. The family again moved to Tampa Florida for Karin to work in the Unum sales office with Jacksonville as her territory. Returning to Maine finally in 2007, settling first Standish and later in Harpswell, she retired from Unum a few years ago.
Karin was predeceased her mother Josie, aunts Eily, May and Ita. She is survived by-Father- Marcel of Topsham, Brother Gregory Nadeau of Lewiston, Husband-Ray of Harpswell, Son-Raymond and his partner Amelia and their son Jayden of Tampa and Son Dylan and his daughter Autumn of Hollis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Saint Catharine Drexel Chapel, 419 Mt. Road Harpswell Maine. On Memorial Day May 27th at 1:00pm with burial to follow at Cranberryhorn Cemetery Harpswell.
