Jessie Hazel Griffin

BRUNSWICK – Jessie Hazel Griffin, 97, of Brunswick, died on April 9th, 2013 at Horizon’s Living Center.

She was born on July 18th, 1915 in Lowell, MA the daughter of Louis and Annie (Cheney) Metevier.

Jessie was a member of Richmond Corner Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school for many years and was also an organist for the church. Among her many interests she especially enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, visiting with friends at Bowdoinham Estates and Dionne Commons, playing games with her grandchildren, going to church, music, reading the Bible, and she loved her Lord.

Jessie is survived by her daughter Barbara Russell and husband Donald of Topsham, ME; son Raymond M. Griffin and wife Lee of Washington, ME; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; beloved husband Stanley; brother Eril Metevier; sister Lillian Wheatley of NH; granddaughter Lori Ann Griffin; and daughter-in-law Helen A. Griffin.

Family and friends are invited to a funeral service on Saturday, April 13th, at 2 PM at Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant Street, Richmond, with Rev. Dow officiating. There will be a visitation prior to the funeral from 1 PM to 2 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be held later in the spring at Richmond Cemetery.
