Charles H "Charlie" Tuttle

Richmond-Charlie H Tuttle, 85, of the Alexander Reed Rd. passed away after a long illness on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at his home, with his family by his side.

He was born on April 22, 1928 in South Paris the son of William and Avis Tuttle and attended local schools.

Charlie proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. After the military Charlie worked for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife as a game warden for 20 years, retiring in1974.

He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting, farming, cutting wood, mowing and particularly being with his family. He also enjoyed working on his tree farm, selling Christmas Trees, logs and firewood.

Charlie was a former selectman for the town of Richmond, was on the Advisory Board for Gardiner Savings and Sagadahoc County Conservation Committee.

Charlie was predeceased by his brothers Bill and Roger Tuttle and sister Polly Varney. He is survived by his wife of 60 years "Chickie" Tuttle, daughter Jennifer Tuttle Hinkley and husband Skip, son Dana and Tracy Tuttle all of Richmond, grandchildren Jordan and Nathan Kirsch, Nicole and Wade Tuttle, sisters Lillian Fish of Florida and Helene McKeen of Connecticut, many nieces and nephews

Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, December 14th from 12 to 1pm with a funeral to follow at the funeral home. Honors will be provided by the Army and the Warden Service. Burial will take place at a later date.
