Donald A. Marston

AUGUSTA -- Donald Allen Marston, 72, of Augusta, died Sept. 23 at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. He was born May 17, 1941, in Portland, the son of Mildred H. Marston and Willis Earl Marston. He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Melissa Dunn. He is survived by his sister, Judith Koch, and her husband, George, of Madison, Conn.; and also by his niece, Ellen Aub, and husband Theodore, nephew Jonathan Brown, their children Samantha and Joshua Romano, and Thea and Anita Aub. Donny attended Boothbay Baptist Church during his school years and graduated from Boothbay Region High School, class of 1959. He served in the Army from 1961 to 1964, achieving the rank of specialist 5. After an honorable discharge, he worked at R.R. Donnelly in Old Saybrook, Conn., Pratt & Whitney in Middletown, Conn., Crooker Construction in Bath, and Walmart in Brunswick.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Oct. 4 at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mount Vernon Road in Augusta. Friends and family are welcome. A special thank-you from the family to cousin Ford Powell and Judy for all their many kindnesses, love and support during Don's many illnesses.
