Dorothy Sherwood
Edgecomb-Dorothy (Davis) Sherwood, 89, formerly of Marblehead, Massachusetts died July 7, 2013 at her residence, Edgecomb Green assisted living.
Dorothy was born in Kennebunk, Maine, on November 20, 1923, the daughter of Charles L. and Agnes (Howard) Davies.
Following her graduation from Wells High School (Maine) in 1941, she worked at Raytheon in Newton, Mass., assembling radio tubes for the war effort. There she met Walter E. During her 50 years in Marblehead, Dorothy volunteered at the Mary Alley Hospital and later joined the League of Women Voters and the Marblehead Historical Society. She enjoyed travel, gardening, needlework, antiquing, and Scrabble, but her greatest love was for her family and her many life-long friends.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Bob, and her daughter, Pamela Sherwood Lenz. Surviving family members, who will miss her greatly, include her children, Suzanne Sherwood, of Wiscasset, Maine; Elizabeth LeBlanc and her husband, Ron, of Lynn; and Walter E.
