Daniel Leroy Durgin
Farmingdale-Daniel L. Durgin, 72, of Bowman St. died Friday, June 17, 2011 in Augusta.
He was born in Manchester on May 19, 1939 the son of Harold and Eska (Rogers) Durgin. Dan grew up in Farmingdale and spent all his life there. Dan owned and operated a tractor trailer truck and scrap yard. Dan and his wife also did building demolition jobs and went to many auctions all over the country including Florida.
Dan loved his neighbors and never refused to do them a favor. He was a quiet man who did a lot of listening.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Sonja of Farmingdale, his children whom he loved dearly Dan Murphy and his wife Sandy of Fairfield, Angela Durgin of Chelsea, Marie and husband Marc Tardiff of Chelsea, Wendy Lilly and husband Loren Lilly Sr., of Richmond, Herbert Barry Jr., and fiancée Rachel Meek of Gainesville, Florida, Blaine Marston who was like a son to Dan of Pittston, 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren who he loved dearly, sisters Rita Madsen of MA, Phyllis Durgin of N.C., brother Wayman Durgin and wife Eugenia of Florida, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, son Harold Durgin whom he loved and missed very much, brother Elwood and Donald Durgin, sisters Margaret Burnham, Helen Markham, Mildred Clifford and Barbara Moody.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, June 21st from 6 to 8pm at Kincer Funeral Home. A funeral will take place on Wednesday, June 22nd at 3pm at the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church on Hasson St. Farmingdale. Burial will follow in the Farmingdale Cemetery Maine Ave. Farmingdale. A luncheon will follow the burial at the Church.
