Karl L. Fickett Sr.
Augusta-Karl L. Fickett, 75, died on June 1, 2011 at Maine Medical Center, Portland after a hard fought battle with kidney failure and heart disease.
He was born on May 13, 1936 in Lewiston the son of Charles and Elizabeth Fickett.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Karl retired from State of Maine after 26 years of service as foreman of the paint shop at AMHI.
Karl enjoyed being around people and putting them before himself. He loved to entertain for family and friends. He was a true friend to all that knew him.
He was predeceased by his parents, sister Evelyn Fickett and former wife Ellen Gray. Karl is survived by his son Karl Jr. and his wife Linda of Augusta, beloved sister Betty Pratt of Richmond who was a great help and support during his time of illness, sisters Marie Johnson of Florida, Priscilla Brown of Bowdoinham, brothers Clarence Fickett of Bowdoinham and Zephyrhills, Florida, Charles Fickett of Farmingdale, many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will take place on Thursday, June 16th at 12 noon at the new Maine Veterans Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Rd. Augusta.
