She married Virgil Lewis on Oct. 10, 1939, and they lived in Berrien Springs until 1951. They resided in Michigan until the early 1970s when they moved to Tennessee. While there, Marian earned her college degree at Vanderbilt University. Marian moved to Freeport, Maine, in her later years to be near to her son.
She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church since 1946: She loved her family and enjoyed people. She always kept her home spotless and was concerned that she herself always looked her best. Marian enjoyed traveling with her son and friends. Her main concerns were shut-ins and people of the church who couldn't get out or had no one to care for them.
Surviving are two daughters, Madelyn (Raymond) Hamblin of Brooklyn, Mich., and Diane (Kenneth) Barnum of Eau Claire; a son, Ted M. (Sharon) Lewis of Freeport, Maine; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
