Albert R. May
Richmond-Albert R. May, 85, of the Parks Rd. in Richmond died November 30, 2010 after a short illness at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta.
He was born in Oxford on March 13, 1925 the son of Ernest and MaryAnn (Flether) May.
Through the years Al worked for Bath Iron Works, Hazzard Shoe, Gardiner Shoe and Etonic Shoe. He also proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII.
Al was a member of the Richmond American Legion. He was also a member of the past member of the Masons, Grange, Fire Department and Odd Fellows.
He enjoyed four wheeling, going to the waterfront to see all the local people, camping and especially spending time with his family.
Al was predeceased by his parents, wife Helen “Pat” Hinkley May, daughter Lorna Lee Arnott, sister Pauline Greene, brother Frank May, and an aunt Adeline May. He is survived by daughters April May of Richmond, Alicia Lachance and husband Mike and their daughter Kelsey of Richmond, son Ernest May and wife Bea of Toms River, NJ., son Gary May and wife Soung of Lakewood, NJ., brothers George May and companion Perlene of South Paris, Robert May and wife Millie of Norway, Rodney May of Hopewell, NJ., sister Elinor Jache of Claremont, NH., 14 grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
There will be a graveside service in the May, 2011.
