LeRoy Andrew Morton
Hallowell-LeRoy Andrew Morton Sr., 80, of the Foye Rd. passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born on April 22, 1930 in Oakfield, Maine the son of Elijah and Charlotte (Jones) Morton.
Leroy married his beloved wife Johanna Tuttle of 59 years on Oct. 6, 1951.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army serving in the Korean War.
Through the years he worked for the Hallowell Police, Moschers Saw Mill, Lipman & Hillcrest and retired from Cives Steel after many years in 1993. LeRoy was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 132 in Richmond and also a member of the Mic-Mac Indians. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, fixing things, family summers at Cobbosse Lake and day trips.
LeRoy was predeceased by his parents ,eight siblings and a grandchild Lisa Bartlett. He is survived by wife Johanna Morton of Hallowell, One brother Gilbert Morton of Tennesee, children Sydney and her husband Norman Sirois Sr. of Lebanon, Cheryl and her husband John Bartlett of Eliot, Dianne and her husband Carroll Whitten of Manchester, LeRoy Jr. and his wife Deborah Morton of Hallowell, Sandra and her husband Mark Christie of Dexter, Ronda and her husband Duane Mason of Whitefield, "papa's pride" 18 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, October 26th from 10am to 12noon with a service commencing at noon at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Maine Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
