James S. Pratt Jr.
Farmingdale-James S. Pratt Jr., 82, of the Litchfield Rd. died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at his residence.
He was born in Bowdoinham on November 20, 1927 the son of James and Thelma (Batchelder) Pratt Sr.
Jim enjoyed farming, cutting wood and he always kept an immaculate garden. He was a 50 year member of the Knights of Pythias in Bowdoinham.
Jim bought his own dump truck and started working for the State of Maine in 1949. He also worked for BIW as a pipefitter for many years and Port City Auctions in Richmond.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, brothers Charley, Clyde, Burleigh Pratt and a sister Bessie Bingham. He is survived by his wife Mona Pratt of Farmingdale, son’s Darrel Pratt of Florida, Brent Pratt of Warren, Craig Pratt of Dresden, Mike Pratt of Florida, brother’s Daryl Pratt of Durham, Philip Pratt of South Monmouth, sisters Lois Heath of Topsham, Ruby Irish of Litchfield, step children Edward Keefer of Palermo, Terri Weeks, Steven Keefer and David Keefer all of Farmingdale, 3 grandchildren and one great grandson.
A graveside service will take place in the spring at the Bay view Cemetery in Bowdoinham in the spring.
