Austin F. Brown
South Gardiner-Austin F. Brown Sr., 75, of Cannard St. passed away on January 18, 2010 after a long illness at his home with his family by his side.
He was born in Mexico, Maine the son of Alfred and Nona (Fogg) Brown and attended local schools. Austin moved to Richmond in 1942.
Austin loved his dogs, gardening, attending his church in Hallowell and especially time spent with his grandson.
Austin worked as a foreman at Etonic Shoe in Richmond for many years. He was also employed by Hannaford’s in Augusta and Crowe Rope for many years.
He was predeceased by parents, sister’s Shirley Hurley, Sylvia Ladd, Madge Libby, brother Clyde Brown, babies Beatrice, Clyde, Geneva and Sylvia Brown.
He is survived by his wife Joanne Brown of South Gardiner, Ronald Brown of Virginia, Robert Brown and wife Coralee of Gardiner, Austin Brown Jr., of Hallowell, brothers Donald, Neal, Darryl, Gerald, sisters Arlene and Norma, one grandson Sullivan Brown of Vermont, several nieces, nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 2 to 3pm on Saturday, January 23rd, with a funeral to follow at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the spring.
