Rollins “Preb” C. Preble
Richmond-Rollins C. Preble, 81, formerly of Bowdoinham passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
He was born on June 10, 1928 in Fairfield.
Preb worked as a truck driver, plowing snow, and in construction all for Williams Construction and Barry Construction Co. until his retirement.
He spent many years living in St. Augustine Florida where he served from 1991 to 1996 as a dedicated volunteer at St. John’s County Council on aging for the Senior Volunteer Program as a cook at the senior center. Preb in his last few years lived in Bowdoinham with his companion.
He had a great love for camping, fishing and enjoyed wild life. Over the years he trained many chipmunks to eat out of his hands and always had a soft spot for his pets.
Preb was predeceased by his wife of thirty years Myrtle Preble and step daughter Linda Witt.
He is survived by a son William Preble of Sidney, daughter Kathleen Preble, step daughter Elaine White and husband Peter of Richmond, step son’s William Witt and his wife Holly of Harmony, Douglas Witt and his wife Paula of Randolph, Massachusetts, companion Millie Booth of Bowdoinham, and her daughters Linda Fenohr and husband Dan of Topsham, Barbie Guerrette of Brunswick, several grand children, great grand children and cousins.
A graveside service will take place on Saturday, November 28th at 11am in the Richmond Cemetery, Richmond.
