Donald L. MacKenzie Sr.
Richmond-Donald L. MacKenzie Sr., 77, of the White Rd. passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 16, 2009 at his home.
He was born in Stockton Springs Maine on August 13, 1932 the son of James and Grace (Ambrose) MacKenzie.
Don was a long time member of the Shepherd of Faith Church in Richmond. He was also a former member of the Masons in Connecticut.
Don was a very active and well known figure in the community. He served on many school boards, past police chief of Richmond, ran the local food bank and the senior citizens luncheons.
He worked for over thirty years as an iron worker in Connecticut and retiring from Bath Iron Works.
Don was predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife Betty MacKenzie and two brothers. He is survived by his daughters Cindy Leslie of Richmond, Lori Ramsdell of Richmond, son Donald MacKenzie Jr of Missouri, sister Louisa Galuza of Brunswick, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, November 20th at 11am at the Shepherd of Faith Church Main St. Richmond with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery Richmond.
