Stanley E. Wentworth
Litchfield-Stanley E. Wentworth, 89, of the Stevens Town Rd. died after a long illness on September 23, 2009 at the Veterans Medical Center, Togus.
He was born in Medford on April 6, 1920 the son of Benjamin and Olive Wentworth.
Stan was a longtime painter and carpenter in the local area.
He enjoyed owning and riding horses, dancing, and playing his banjo’s. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp during WWII. Stan was a member of Morning Star Masonic Lodge in Litchfield, American Legion Smith Wiley Post 4 of Litchfield, DAV AMVETS Togus, Scottish Rite Consistory, Kora Temple Shrine, Litchfield Grange, Honorary member of the Maine Trail Riders and a member of Pet Haven Lane in Augusta.
Stan was predeceased by his parents, sisters margorite Waterhouse, Marion Prew, Geneva Waterhouse, brothers Benjamin Wentworth and George Wentworth.
He is survived by his son John Wentworth and fiancée Mindy Augusto of Cary, North Carolina, sister Lora Douyard of Jefferson and granddaughter Amanda Wentworth of Lewiston.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, September 25th at 11am at Fairbanks Cemetery, West Gardiner with military honors and a presentation by Morning Star Masonic Lodge.
