RICHMOND - Tatiana Kallaur, 26, formerly of Pittsfield, Cornville, Newport, Gardiner and Augusta, died unexpectedly Sept. 21, 2009, as a result of a car accident in Richmond. Tatiana was born Sept. 6, 1983, in Ekaterinberg, Russia, and was raised in an orphanage in Taldom, Russia, for 8 3/4 years. She came to Maine in 1992 with her brother, Alex, when she was adopted by Scott and Janice Mitchell. As a new citizen she rapidly made friends and enjoyed singing Christian songs, playing piano and attending school at Canaan Christian School and then Bangor Christian. She loved her baby brother, Scotty and was the only person besides Mom who could quiet him, bouncing him heartily in her arms. Enthusiastic at sports, she was very proud of her soccer team at Bangor Christian and was a great addition to the team, except when she scored on her own net. Many of her favorite hours were spent in church as a child and she had a sincere faith, which she nurtured in her family. Her love for her Russian roots led her to Jordanville Monastery where she met her loving, faithful husband, Alexander, in 2004. Their marriage was blessed with two lovely children, Anthony, 4, and Anastasia, 2. Her friends gathered for her birthdays each year and provided her much support and love. Her perky smile and cheerful determination will always be remembered. May her memory be eternal! Tatiana was employed by MaineGeneral Medical Center as a phlebotomist. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Richard and Elizabeth Wagner. She is survived by her husband, Alexander Kallaur of Orono; children, Anthony and Anastasia; parents, Scott and Janice Mitchell of Glenburn; brothers, Alexander Mitchell of Southington, Conn., a senior at New England Baptist College, and Scott Mitchell II, studying at Kent School in Connecticut; and grandparents, Robert and Alma Mitchell of Quincy, Pa. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at St. Alexander Nevsky Russian Church, Richmond. Burial will be after at Richmond Cemetery. In Tatiana's memory donations may be made to her two children, care of St. Alexander Nevsky Church, Church Street, Richmond, ME 04357. Arrangements are under the care of Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant St., Richmond.
